UK Mail Order - General Conditions:

1: All prices shown on this website include postage and packing.

2: We accept orders and payments on-line (through the secure Pay Pal shopping cart system which accepts all major credit/debit cards and Pay Pal accounts), by telephone and by post by credit card, debit card, cheque, postal order and cash payments.

2a: Customers are advised that some credit card companies abbreviate our company name (i.e. Great Northern Pub, or Gt Nth Pub). You should be aware of this to avoid confusion when you receive your statement.

3: All cheques and postal orders should be made payable to 'Great Northern Publishing (and not to the magazine or publication being purchased).

4: We accept no liability for any orders or payments which fail to reach us, either by mail or via the internet.

5: Any complaint for Lost, Damaged or Delayed mail which arises due to the postal system should be made by phone to us in the first instance. We will then dispatch a complaint form which you must complete and return to us with any packaging or items we request. The form obliges all customers to make a formal complaint to Royal Mail (the only postal carrier we use) before returning the form to us. A replacement item will only be dispatched after our claim against Royal Mail has been settled. Any other complaints for errors in an order made by us will be processed and actioned without issue. Please keep a copy of your order for future reference.

5a: Many of our books are ex-stock and remaindered titles - which is why they are reduced in price - which are often hard to obtain and which we carry in very small numbers (sometimes only a single copy). Some may have slight blemishes or scuffs etc to covers, but in the main are in perfect condition and all books, regardless of their jacket condition are readable and in saleable condition when dispatched.

6: All products are shipped on receipt of payment via Royal Mail by 2nd Class Post or by Parcel Post. Occasionally, multiple orders are dispatched under separate cover to reduce postage charges and to speed up delivery. As a rule, credit/debit cards are not debited until orders are ready for dispatch - except in the case of subscriptions. Most of our books are now sent out by 'recorded delivery'.

7: Please ensure your full postal address is given, with all words spelt in full and a correct postcode. Addresses which do not comply with the Royal Mail postal database may create delivery problems.

8: All post orders and payments should be sent to: Great Northern Publishing, PO Box 202, Scarborough, North Yorkshire. YO11 3GE.

9: We retain the right to refuse to fulfil any orders (and refund any monies paid) without notice.

10: All goods remain the property of Great Northern Publishing until payment has been made in full.

Overseas Mail Order - General Conditions:

Cheques should be drawn on a UK based bank.

6a: Canada: Customers living in Canada should be aware that their customs service imposes a value limit of £9 on items being sent by post. Anything over that value may be subject to local import tax which you will be obliged to pay before your postal service will deliver your item/s. This is outside of our control. Wherever possible we try to split multiple orders to avoid this punitive taxation.
