| GINGER | ||||||||||||
| Born in 1994, Ginger is a 13-inch tan-coloured terrier with a distinguishing white streak down his chest. He has been with the Dogs Trust (formerly the NCDL) rehoming centre in Evesham, Worcestershire since December 1994. | ||||||||||||

| I received lots of cards and doggy treats this Easter. I was such a lucky dog and now summer is here I've even more to look forward to, like lounging on the grass and snoozing in the afternoon sun. I love the warm weather, but I don't enjoy going for long walks like I used to. I prefer to relax in my kennel and snuggle into my cosy duvet (I do like taking it easy these days, as you might have guessed!) I've also had lots of visitors recently - I love all the attention! Loving licks - Ginger. | ||||||||||||

| Whenever Christmas is near my tail just doesn't stop wagging because I get so excited. Last year I got loads of presents and treats which I shared with my kennel buddies. Hopefully I'll get some more this year. I'll have to make sure I watch my weight though as I can't be walked by my sponsors any more. I'm getting on a bit and I like my creature comforts a lot more now. You can bet that when it gets a bit chilly you'll find me snuggling up in my warm blanket. I'm so happy and it's all down to your generosity. Thank you for helping Dogs Trust take care of me. You'll always have a special place in my heart, especially at Christmas. | ||||||||||||

| Hi, I'm Ginger, the Terrier. I love treats and toys, sunny walks and lots of attention. I'm a rather particular little chap though, so you'll have to catch me in the right mood to take me for walks. I especially don't like the rain, it plays havoc with the white streak on my chest! | ||||||||||||
| FAREWELL TO OUR LITTLE CHUM | ||||||||||||
| We are extremely sorry to pass on the sad news of Dudley's death at Christmas 2002. Dudley had been ill for some months and, rather than allow him to suffer, the NCDL vets decided it would be kinder to send the little chap on his way. Visitors to this page will know that we have regularly posted messages from Dudley - our sponsor dog - here, along with photos and details of how he was getting on. The NCDL cared for Dudley when he was left abandoned on a beach, deaf and blind. We would like to extend our grateful thanks, and our heartfelt sympathies, to the NCDL staff at Dumfries in Scotland who cared for Dudley over the years and gave him a home after such a bad start in life. | ||||||||||||

| For further information on the wonderful work done by the Dogs Trust (NCDL), please pay a visit to their site by 'patting the pooch' at the bottom of the page. There are many dogs who, for one reason or another, and through no fault of their own, cannot be homed, and the Dogs Trust (unlike some other animal organisations) never puts a healthy dog to sleep. Please support the work of the Dogs Trust. | ||||||||||||

| Founded in 1891 to protect dogs from torture
and ill-usage of every kind' the Dogs Trust now cares for over 11,000 abandoned
dogs in 16 Rehoming Centres across the UK every single year. Perhaps best known
for the slogan (introduced in 1978 in anticipation of the usual festive rush to
purchase a 'living toy') A DOG IS FOR LIFE . . . NOT JUST FOR CHRISTMAS they still need all the support they can get. If you can donate anything, including treats, food, toys, etc., or want to sponsor a dog of your own, or even if you just want to learn more - then please visit the Dogs Trust site (link below). Become a dog's best friend and show a little extra kindness to those of our canine chums who haven't been fortunate enough to find a rug in front of a roaring fire to curl up on, or a lap to lay their head on. |
