COMPANY INFORMATION

GREAT NORTHERN PUBLISHING is a fully independent, wholly family-owned, award winning small publishing and production company, based in Scarborough, on the beautiful Yorkshire coast.

We publish the much respected, bi-monthly magazines The Great War, The Second World War, and the highly acclaimed international adult, erotic art and literature magazine Jade, and we are the home of the works of Captain Bruce Bairnsfather, the famous First World War cartoonist.

As a production company we undertake a number of both print, web design, and production/publishing roles for other publishers, charities, organisations and companies in the UK. We also offer basic secretarial and mailing services. For our current 7-page 'Guide to Services' please click here.

As well as offering comprehensive production facilities to individuals, organisations and charities, we supply a range of selected books via mail-order.

GREAT NORTHERN PUBLISHING supports the work of the Dogs Trust (formerly the National Canine Defence League) and are proud sponsers of Ginger. All our used laser toner and inkjet cartridges are recycled in aid of an animal rescue sanctuary, and all our used stamps go towards the Guide Dogs for the Blind programme, in which we also sponser the training of a Guide Dog.

GENERAL OVERVIEW

GREAT NORTHERN PUBLISHING publishes a range of book titles and magazines under its own imprint. We specialise in high quality, short-run paperback books and offer a fully comprehensive and affordable production environment for most types of books, from novels to illustrated non-fiction. We now offer a production facility for as few as 300 paperback books, through a choice of printed medium, up to any amount the customer chooses. Our long-term aim is to be the best regional publisher in the north of England and through that position to introduce and promote new material to the general public. DEDICATION

This website is dedicated to our wonderful rescue dogs Sam and Tess who were constant fixtures in the office until they passed away within six months of each other in 2001.

COMPANY MASCOT

Little rescue dog EDDIE joined the team on Saturday 12th January 2002. A great little character and a charmer if ever there was one, we named him after the terrier in 'Frasier'. He was just 20 months old when he arrived and has captured everyone's hearts. Eddie is now the official mascot of The Great War magazine and The Second World War magazine.
